Life is Life

I haven’t really been up to anything of much consequence lately, mostly just the basic living things, i.e. cleaning the house, doing my laundry, eating, sleeping, working, going to class, etc. The highlights of my last few weeks have been hanging out with Erin. Between and during the “normal living” things, I’ve been playing Warcraft or sleeping.

Monday night, I went to the T119 meeting in Ellettsville. It was a good time. I got to meet a couple of the guys in the troop I didn’t know (there are still about 20 for me to meet) and — most importantly — I met some of the adult leaders that will be coming with to Sea Base. I hope that I will be able to know most, if not, all, of the boys going to Sea Base. I also picked up an application to be an Assistant Scoutmaster with them which means I need to change the insignia on my shirts — get a Hoosier Trails strip, some 1s and a 9 and even a Nischa Chuppecut flap. It’s a strange change for me, leaving Crossroads, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it. It’s not like I’m leaving the council permanently — I’m still registered with Crew 695. For that reason, I’m going to keep one of my shirts in its Crossroads insignia.

If you didn’t read my Spring Break announcement post or have forgotten, I will be going to Florida Sea Base with T119. Sea Base is a High Adventure Base located in the Florida Keys focusing on aquatic activities. It’s going to be a blast and I can’t wait. The guys in the troop seem to be pretty excited that I’m going as well.

Anyway, enough with the scouting-babble.

The graveyard tonight has gone by really fast. I can’t believe that it’s already 6:00.

Tonight is possibly the biggest game of IU’s season — IU vs. PU at Purdue. It’s pretty much a must win for the Hoosiers if they want to have a spot in the Big Dance. Winning last weekend at home against MSU was definitely a high-quality tournament resume win, but we’ll have to win one, of not both, of our last games (both on the road at Purdue and Michigan) to seal a NCAA Bid. I think it’s doable. We have a pretty good record vs. Michigan at Michigan and Purdue isn’t that good this year.

My plans for this weekend?

Well, Friday is STC Happy-Hour which always proves to be entertaining. Last week’s highlight was me taking a drunk-as-hell Austin back to his house haha. Saturday = no plans. Hopefully Erin time. Sunday = laundry and house cleaning.

That’s pretty much all I have to write about for now. Time to go clean up the IC a bit.

Peace out!

  1. As long as your dues are paid for Jaccos Towne you don’t have to change the flap, but I know that Nischa Chuppecut is very strict about making sure that the only people who wear their flaps are registered members in their lodge, not just their council…
