Happy new year to all. My 2003 was filled with a lot of bad happenings. I hope, for me and all of you, that 2004 treats everyone better than 2003 did even if you had a good 2003.
Here are a couple of my New Year Resolutions.
- No more getting drunk from drinking. After seeing what happened to Tony and Ryan last night from drinking, I’m done. No more.
- More studying. This should help me achieve my goal of a 4.0 this semester. I am going to get all my homework done and finish all my studying before any fun stuff each and every evening.
- More physical activity. This is doable. For most people, it’s not. I will be more physically active. I plan to do this in the mornings, and a couple nights a week when I climb. No more late nights, no more sleeping in. I’m not going to be a slacker anymore.
- Save more. I have spent, spent, and spent some more this last year. Those days are over as well. I will save money, that’s all there is to say about that.
Ok, there they are. Four things that I have slacked off on the last year and plan not to anymore. I will be creating a sub-blog at http://resolutions.tlmason.com to keep myself on track. I will be entering things into it every morning. It’s mostly for me to keep myself to my word, but I figure if it’s public, hopefully my friends will keep me to my word as well. You can comment on this blog for that one because it’s comments are disabled. It is my goal that the quote above be proved false this year.
‘Twas the Last Day of 2003
‘Twas the last day of 2003 and all in the truck,
Everyone was excited for an eve of bad luck.
The evening started on the south side of city,
Where the DD of the night made his truck nice and pretty.
The evening continued in an small eastern town,
Stop one was the home of Tony, class clown.
He hopped in the taxi full of excitement and cheer,
For he wants more this evening than popcorn beer.
Off to the north, the blue bus would then fly,
Stop two was to John’s for Luke, crazy guy.
The shuttle darted round curve and up over hill
The partiers of the night would soon have their fill.
There was little delay as they mounted the horse,
The final stop was made on the shore of Lake Morse.
Ryan and Tony and Cami and Luke,
Were in for a night where two would then puke.
At the bar of the evening, Rock Lobster it’s name,
The all enjoyed drinks, in this mecca of great fame.
Ryan and Tony had much more than they thought,
Then bottles of bubbly for eleven dollars, they bought.
Eleven o’clock came and their memory began to fade,
Of how many drinks the bartender for them had made.
The bottles were emptying and their eyes were shrinking
The driver, at that time, cut off Tony from drinking.
He continued to groove with the alcohol on his clothes,
Till he started to fall not knowing where he goes.
Ryan kept pouring the drinks down his throat,
To the bathroom he went, and to the bar he would float.
Midnight came round, and none could frown,
The baloons were dropped and money came down.
The champagne was tosted to good will and good cheer
The gang wished to stay and celebrate the new year.
Tony was falling, Ryan disappeared,
Cami was dancing with Tom who feared,
It was time to go, so the drinkers he found,
Ryan by the bar, and Tony he saved from the ground.
The taxi was close and the trek began,
Ryan had enough and took off, and ran.
The chase was short, over a fence he fell.
In the back yard, he layed, of some ghetto hell.
Safely to the truck they journeys all ended,
And back at each house, on their beds they landed.
The driver got in the bus and to home, took flight.
Happy New Year to all and to all a good night!
Check out The Photoblog for pictures of the evening. That pretty much sums up the night. If you want to know more, IM me and we’ll talk.
That’s all for tonight.
Happy New Year!
